What's a blog ?

   A blog or weblog is like a journal on the Internet. Someone asks a question or makes a comment and someone else has the option to respond. Blogging can be a very useful classroom tool. Students who blog are writing with a purpose in mind. As a result they will usually write with more enthusiasm because they know that it's on the Internet, and they have an audience. It's writing with a purpose.
    Care must be taken in an educational setting where children are involved. Many good blogging sites require a password and approval by the teacher to participate in the discussion. Teacher monitoring of blog content is an important tool to consider when blogging.
