| Training Manuals
- This site contains links to training manuals for various versions of
the activboard. Most teachers at Abney have Version
3 Software. These manuals can be printed out, but are quite lengthy.
They can be saved to a storage device for fairly quick retrieval. |
There
is a difference between activstudio
and activprimary
software. The classes at Abney have Activstudio software. The differences
and demonstrations of each can be viewed at these sites. |
| Activotes
are devices which allow all students within a classroom to actively participate
in class discussions by choosing an answer using this voting device. Activotes
allow for choosing answers in a multiple choice format. A video demonstration
is available at this site. You can experience using the activote at this
site. Activotes do require 3AAA batteries. Battery life is usually 18 months.
Each grade level will receive a set of votes. |
Activexpressions
are devices which are similar to activotes. The difference is the method
of recording answers. This device allows students some versatility in types
of responses. Questions do not have to be multiple choice. Students can
type in a variety of responses, much like text messaging. You can experience
using the activexpression on this interactive site. A video demonstration
is also available. |
| Activboard
online courses are courses which are provided online. The
fee at this time is $50. Paricipants have 90 days to complete the course.
Certifications can be obtained. There is a foundations skills course, and
advanced skills course, a curriculum developer course, and a training and
coaching course. |
Promethean
Planet - This site allows access to flip charts that have already
been created by other teachers. An account must be created in order to
access the flip charts. This site links to YouTube videos
of teachers using the activboard in the classroom for a variety of purposes. |
