Look for the Star Inside of You
You may have noticed that somewhere on each webpage there are
apples of one sort or another. Most people associate apples with teachers.
I do love apples, but for a different reason than you may think. If an
apple is sliced horizontally you can see a star shape inside that is formed
by the seeds. The only way to find the star is to search deep within the
apple. Deep within each student in our class is a star waiting to shine.
These are the things we do to make being a STAR worth the effort.
Super Star Awards
Super Star Awards are for students caught being good or doing something
extra special. They are collected in a jar and names are pulled each week
to receive a special pencil.
Star Bucks
Star Bucks are class money which is used to buy things at our monthly auction.
Students can earn Star bucks in lots of ways. They earn one dollar for
coming to school and one dollar for being on time. Money is earned for
good grades, hard work, great answers, and kind acts. The kids are responsible
for keeping track of their Star Bucks, which must be earned. Students may
not give each other money or take that money home.
The Wall of Fame
The Wall of Fame is located outside of our classroom. When a STAR student
does brilliant work, we want them to shine where everyone can see their
tremendous effort.
